GERACLE at the 19th biannual Castle Meeting
Last week, Shahnoor Alam, Louise Dauchy-Tric, Pablo Rivera Perez, and Rahel Paasch from the GFZ team participated in the 19th biannual Castle Meeting, held from June 29th to July 3rd, 2026, in Collonges-la-Rouge, France.
Every two years, the Castle Meeting brings together the international community working on paleomagnetism, rock, and environmental magnetism. The relaxed, single-track format encourages open discussion between theoretical approaches, numerical modeling, and new experimental data across these fields.
The GFZ team presented three posters featuring newly acquired data from sampling campaigns at GEOMAR Kiel and CEREGE, and Pablo Rivera Perez shared his recent progress on modeling the Gauss-Matuyama reversal.
Beyond the scientific program, the meeting offered a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow scientists in the field and to introduce GERACLE to the wider paleo- and environmental magnetism community.
